Description

The Christmas kettle coordinator ensures the smooth running of the kettle campaign, maximizing donations and coordinating the staffing of employees and volunteers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with a small team, coordinating all aspects of the Christmas kettle fundraising campaign
  • Promotes the campaign through community presence, social media, phone calls, etc
  • Strengthens relationships with management and leadership at all kettle locations and is responsible to act as a liaison, providing supports as needed
  • Recruits, trains, and schedules and supports kettle workers and volunteers
  • Ensures all kettles and supplies are maintained at all locations, at all times
  • Works with a list of volunteers, clubs, churches and businesses to assist in filling volunteer positions
  • Provides post campaign support to ensure transition to future campaigns
  • Ensures donors, volunteers, workers and all partnerships are thanked, and invitations are given to appreciation events
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education, Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Some high school coursework, completion of high school is an asset.

Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements:

  • A minimum of one year of related experience or working in customer service.
  • Money handling experience is an asset.
  • Experience in office administration.
  • Experience with general office equipment and must have strong skills and experience using word processing (WORD); spread sheet use (EXCEL).
  • Valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License, personal vehicle required and insurance, current copy of driver’s abstract for review and verification that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required.

HOURS: Contract Full Time Temporary Position from October 15, 2024 to December 24, 2024.  The position requires working up to 40-hours per week, flexibility with work hours/schedule is expected.  (Monday to Saturday).  There may be a possibility of more hours as needed upon the request of the Corps Officer.

Successful candidates, prior to hiring, are required to provide:

  • Must have a Police Security Clearance Certificate.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Exhibit good listening skills, have strong oral/written communication skills.
  • Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Honest, courteous, and punctual; prepared to act in the best interest of employer.
  • Represent the organization in a positive, professional, and engaging manner.
  • Attentive listening skills for supervision, coaching, and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in the handling of donor, volunteer, and organizational information.
  • Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check screening.
  • Ability and willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
