Commitment to Comprehensive Care

The Salvation Army is a Christian organization that gives hope and support to vulnerable people in more than 400 communities across Canada and in more than 130 countries worldwide. When you give to The Salvation Army, you support a holistic model of care for anyone who comes to us in need, based on our ability to help.

Life-Skills Development

Participants in our life-skills programs feel better about who they are and what they can achieve. From learning how to manage finances to eating healthy and cooking on a budget, client-focused learning helps people create and maintain a balanced life.

Pathway of Hope

Many people living in poverty often face a cycle of recidivism; they move from crisis to crisis and remain at risk. With Pathway of Hope, The Salvation Army helps transform lives for the better by supporting people in breaking the cycle of crisis and vulnerability.

Pathway of Hope provides individualized services to those who desire to take action to break the cycle of crisis and vulnerability.  Overcoming challenges like unemployment, unstable housing and lack of education, families are guided towards increased stability and, ultimately, self-sufficiency.

Pathway of Hope marks a pivotal shift from treating the symptoms of poverty to preventing the epidemic at its root, profoundly affecting generations to come.

Children & Youth Camps

The Salvation Army provides week-long, overnight camps and day camps. For many children and youth, camp provides an opportunity to let loose and enjoy being a kid. Campers learn new skills such as canoeing and rock climbing, as they make new friends and develop self-confidence in a positive environment.

Children & Youth Activities

The Salvation Army is committed to providing safe, educational and fun spaces for children and youth. Every year, thousands of young people of all ages come through the doors of The Salvation Army for activity nights and drop-ins, making new friends along the way.

Services to Seniors

The Salvation Army helps seniors in multiple ways. Adult day programs improve participants’ physical and mental well-being. Long-term care facilities monitor the health of residents, promote independence and assist residents with the activities of daily living. In our hospice programs, we walk beside each resident to facilitate a gentle closure to life, with comfort ensured, values and decisions respected, and families supported.

Indigenous Empowerment and Support

The Salvation Army in Canada and Bermuda is dedicated to the reconciliation journey with Indigenous Peoples in Canada. We seek to journey together to support safe, healthy communities.
