Construction Underway on New Supportive Housing Project in Barrie

Construction has begun on the on a new multi-million-dollar supportive housing project for families in Barrie that includes a two-story building with 12 fully furnished apartments.

The Salvation Army and Redwood Park Communities are partnering on the project. The Salvation Army Ontario Division is providing $500,000 towards the building of the 12 new supportive housing units, in addition to providing the land on Lillian Crescent.

So far $2.4 million has been raised through the capital campaign and through the community with $700,000 still needed.

Construction of the over 14,000 square feet building is expected to be completed by Summer 2023.
