It’s that time of year when we both lose and gain within The Salvation Army. This year’s officer moves have been announced and in B.C. some significant changes have taken place at Divisional Headquarters (DHQ).

Majors Les and Tiffany Marshall are off to Winnipeg where they will serve as Divisional Commander and Divisional Director of Women’s Ministries; Divisional Secretary for Spiritual Life, respectively. The Majors were a significant part of the executive team in B.C. for the past three years and their contributions have been significant. We will miss them dearly and we wish them all the success in the world in their new role.

We are losing Captains Jason and Kristen Dockeray who are moving to Territorial Headquarters (THQ) to become the Executive Officer to the Territorial Commander, Executive Department and Advocate for Gender Equity, Office of the Territorial President of Women’s Ministries, respectively. The two have been integral to running one of the most successful camp programs in the country. Their energy, creativity and passion will be missed, but our loss, is THQ’s gain. We wish them all the best.

As the saying goes, when a door closes a window opens … and we are pleased to welcome Captains Josh and Joyce Downer who will be replacing the Dockerays as Divisional Youth Secretaries here at DHQ.* We also want to welcome back Captain Sharon Tidd, who will take on the role of Area Commander, and congratulate Major Lisa MacPherson who will start a new role as an Area Commander at DHQ. And Lt. Colonel Ann Braund will be Divisional Director for Women’s Ministries and Divisional Secretary of Spiritual Life Development.

Please join us in congratulating and or welcoming everyone as we begin this new journey together in B.C.
