5th Annual Turkey Drive helps families in need this holiday weekend
The Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club in cooperation with Safeway and The Salvation Army were proud to be able to help 100 local families celebrate Thanksgiving with a family-sized turkey along with a basting tray, recipe and cooking instructions amongst other goodies this holiday for the 5th Annual Turkey Drive.
“Our partnership with the Vancouver Canadians and Safeway has given us the opportunity to reach deep into our community and give our neighbours the chance to enjoy Thanksgiving the way it is meant to be enjoyed, among family and friends surrounded by great food and comfort”, says Major Ken Ritson, Executive Director of the Vancouver Family Services chapter of the Salvation Army.
Several Canadians front office staff were on-hand including owner Jeff Mooney, President Andy Dunn and General Manager Jason Takefman to help deliver these turkeys.
The Salvation Army wishes to Thank The Canadians and Safeway for their generous donation as well as Avis for providing the van which transported all of the fresh turkeys.
Thanks to everyone’s generosity, that in itself is reason to give Thanks.
