Take a look at the efforts taking place during apricot season in Penticton as this ministry has been asked to be a feature program during local events happening in partnership with Food Banks Canada, Organics Week and bake sales.

Organic Orchardist, Ted Abbott, of Abbott Acres in Keremeos, gave his time and resources as they donated 400 lbs. of organic apricots for use in the Salvation Army Community Kitchen teaching, canning, jamming and dehydrating methods.

The “cots” travelled via our Sally Ann Van from the orchard to our gleaming, Stainless steel kitchen at our Salvation Army church location on 2469 South Main in Penticton.

Canning and Jam Making Instructor, Marilyn Bishop of Penticton, oversees a work party of 12 who are learning how to make Apricot Jam and then be found housed in our Community Kitchen until called upon!
