You Help Provide Safety and a Future
As a single father, Luis worries every day about his three young children, all under the age of 12.* In El Salvador where he lives, he has reason for concern.
Nearly one in three people in El Salvador, including Luis, live in poverty, and families like his face challenges meeting basic needs such as food, clean water and access to education.** Children are especially vulnerable to hunger, violence and child labour, and they have limited educational support.
Through the generosity of Salvation Army donors, Luis’ children attend The Salvation Army’s Childhood Enrichment Centre close to their home, which gives Luis hope. It provides a safe, structured environment for 30-40 children ages 5-12.
The centre is a vital refuge that offers these children nutritious meals, academic tutoring, literacy and math support, while providing a safe environment where they can grow, learn and stay protected from harm.
“The centre means so much to me,” Luis says. “Thank you for giving my children the opportunity to grow up safe and have the chance for a better future.”
