Veteran Communications Leader Grace Van den Brink Joins Greater Victoria Advisory Board

Grace Van den Brink was welcomed as a member of the Greater Victoria Advisory Board effective May 29, 2025.

Grace has more than 30 years of experience in communications and public relations in Victoria and Vancouver. She successfully worked with a broad range of clients in both the private and public sector before joining the Public Affairs Bureau (British Columbia government) and then served in local government First Nations relations. With the latter she enjoyed helping communities find common ground and worked through the intricacies of treaty negotiations until her retirement from the public service.

Grace has long believed in the importance of supporting youth and education, and women. Currently, she serves as chair of the Camosun College Foundation Board. Grace was also the first woman president of the Union Club of British Columbia. In addition to seeing the 140-year-old institution through the 2020 pandemic and its aftermath, she actively promoted women within the club.

Over the years, Grace also volunteered for many community and fundraising endeavours, including running events and the YMCA/YWCA of Greater Victoria. She also served as the president of a successful women’s investment group and on a proactive, well-regarded strata for three terms.

Grace was born in Victoria and raised in her family’s restaurant business. She holds a bachelor of arts (University of Victoria) and professional courses in local government administration.
