Salvation Army Honours National Indigenous History Month (WATCH)

In June, Canadians celebrate National Indigenous History Month to honour the history, heritage, and strength, of Indigenous peoples in Canada, and acknowledge the contributions they have made and continue to make in shaping our country.

Major Shari Russell, Indigenous ministries consultant for The Salvation Army was born into the Yellow Quill First Nation in Saskatchewan. She was around/about two years old when she and two of her siblings were taken from their family and their home community in what is known as the Sixties Scoop.

In this video, we invite you to learn from, and celebrate, Major Shari and her three sons as they share their experience and journey.
