Prince Albert Community Ministries building after a fire

Update on The Salvation Army Prince Albert Community Services on Christmas Day Fire and Community Services

On December 25, 2025, The Salvation Army Prince Albert Community Services building was destroyed by fire. The building has been deemed a total loss following the collapse of the roof. Security footage related to the incident has been provided to the Prince Albert Police Department.

Temporary space to continue the community services work has been set up at Union Centre at 107 8 St E until September. Daytime and overnight warming centres, along with clothing and meal services have been restored in the temporary space, however showers and laundry services for the unhoused community remain a gap as the Union Centre is unequipped for these needs. Church of the Nazarene has also offered space for worship services and some office space.

The Salvation Army Prince Albert Community Services feeds roughly 100 people each weekday and operates the only warming centre in the city, supporting approximately 60 people each night.

Donations are requested to support program continuity for services including daily meals, warming supports, and essential community care, as well as leasing costs associated with the temporary space.
