Realtors Collect 31,500 Pounds of Food for Salvation Army Food Banks
Local realtors led a local food drive in Oxford County, bringing in 31,500 pounds of food for The Salvation Army.
Agents with Woodstock, Ingersoll, Tillsonburg and Area Association of Realtors went door to door in area communities collecting food on May 3. Residents in Woodstock, Ingersoll, Sweaburg, Embro and Beachville generously provided enough healthy food to stock The Salvation Army food bank shelves for individuals and families in need.
An estimated 25,000 pounds was collected in Woodstock, 3,000 pounds in Tillsonburg, and 3,500 pounds in Ingersoll, with all donations headed for Salvation Army food banks in those communities.
“The generosity from our communities is amazing and it is expected that the food raised will help keep our local food bank shelves stocked up for many months to come,” says Woodstock, Ingersoll, Tillsonburg and Area Association of Realtors president Anthony Montanaro.
Since the first Realtors Care Food Drive 12 years ago, an estimated 250,000 pounds of food has been collected for local food banks. A total of 140 volunteers came out to support the 2023 event.
Thank you to the Woodstock, Ingersoll, Tillsonburg and Area Association of Realtors for supporting The Salvation Army Ontario’s mission to bring hope wherever there is hardship both locally and across the province.
