Mitch Marner Assists in Building a Toy Mountain for Ontario Children

For the third year in a row, Toronto Maple Leafs’ Mitch Marner has helped The Salvation Army provide presents to children in need. The Marner Assist Foundation recently donated $20,000 to The Salvation Army to ensure every child in Ontario has a toy under the tree at Christmas. The Foundation also provided 1,500 toys to The Salvation Army in partnership with Mastermind Toys.

The first $10,000  was handed over at a CTV Toy Mountain event in Scarborough, and a second $10,000 as made recently at Certified Sports, a memorabilia store owned by Mitch’s parents, Paul and Bonnie Marner.

“We’re very grateful for Mitch’s support of children in Ontario who are less fortunate. We are appreciative of the relationship we have with the Marner Assist Foundation, and we look forward to continuing the partnership in the future,” said Pat LaBuick, Manager of Procurement with The Salvation Army’s Ontario Distribution Centre.

Mastermind Toys is a major toy donor to The Salvation Army and The Marner Assist Foundation. Earlier this year the company provided 17 skids of puzzles, toys and crafts destined for homes throughout Ontario. Many toys provided by The Salvation Army are also purchased from Mastermind.

This holiday season, the Ontario Distribution Centre has sent out 66,000 toys to Salvation Army locations across the province for children to unwrap on Christmas morning.
