Tire Discounter Group’s ‘Wheels for Meals & More!’ campaign raised $107,000 in support of families in need this Christmas. Between Nov. 29 and Dec. 13, $1 from every tire sold by the company was donated to Salvation Army locations in Barrie, Toronto, Orangeville, Oakville, London, and Ottawa.

With Tire Discounter Group’s support, New Hope Community Church in Orangeville provides 300 families with food for Christmas, ensures 700 children in Dufferin County have gifts under the tree, serves 230 Thanksgiving turkey dinners to people in the community and provides back-to-school assistance to 168 community children. So far in 2022, 33,433 pounds of food has been distributed by the church to anyone in need.

“In partnership with The Salvation Army and New Hope Community Church, we launched our first TDG ‘Wheels for Meals & More!’ campaign in December of 2020, raising $47,000 to help families put food on their tables across Ontario in regions where our six TDG Distribution Centres are located. This was a heartwarming moment for us here at Tire Discounter Group,” said Frank Brundle, CEO and President of Tire Discounter Group.

Last year, Tire Discounter Group donated an incredible $81,000, as part of the company’s charitable giving, to improve the lives and futures of individuals and families supported by The Salvation Army.

Lieutenant Roger Barrow, Corps Officer at The Salvation Army New Hope Community Church in Orangeville, says the campaign is a key part of the church’s Christmas fundraising efforts.

“Partnerships like this go a long way in ensuring we can provide services in the coming year, and we are very thankful. We have seen such an increase in demand, as our food bank use has more than doubled this year,” Lieutenant Barrow says.

“With the number of people reaching out for assistance at an all time high, this campaign helps provide support for those families in need and we are looking forward to another successful ‘Wheels for Meals & More!’ campaign this year,” says Paul Chatterton, Chief Operations Officer of Tire Discounter Group.
