The Salvation Army EDS responds to industrial explosion in Ottawa

In Ottawa on January 13th, the call went out for The Salvation Army to provide support to first responders at the scene of an explosion at Eastway Tank Pump and Meter Ltd. The ROFFA (Retired Ottawa Fire Fighters Association), along with a few other volunteers, were quick to arrive on scene with The Salvation Army Canteen to provide coffee, hot chocolate and to start flipping hundreds of burgers for first responders.

Not only did these volunteers offer practical help, but several were also at the Woodvale Pentecostal Church to bring emotional and spiritual care to the many family members at the reunification Centre set up by the City of Ottawa.
