
Introducing Trevor McLellan, The Salvation Army Ontario Division EDS Coordinator
Trevor McLellan is an Emergency Disaster Services Coordinator with The Salvation Army Ontario Division. His tenure with The Salvation Army started about six weeks before the first COVID-19 case in Ontario. Since then, he has had the privilege of responding to emergencies in London and Barrie, as well as helping coordinate the COVID-19 response in London.
Professionally, before The Salvation Army, he was First Aid and Disaster Services Coordinator with the Canadian Red Cross, which he continues to support as first aid instructor.
Trevor has presented on diabetes education programs and ran summer camps for kids with diabetes with Diabetes Canada and did health outreach at a community health centre in Woodstock.
In his spare time, Trevor runs an event EMS company, and volunteers for Humanity First and the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets. His medical company provides emergency medical services at festivals and events across Southern Ontario through a team of roughly 20 paramedics, firefighters, and students.
Since 1998, Trevor has been the music officer and first aid officer with Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps in Woodstock. The band has performed at The Memorial Cup, Toronto St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and other events around the province.
Since 2013, Trevor has participated in disaster response efforts with Humanity First Canada. He’s been deployed to Roxas City, The Philippines during Super Typhoon Haiyan; Houston, Texas for Hurricane Harvey; Coopers Town, on Abaco Island in the Bahamas for Hurricane Dorian; and most recently, Antananarivo and Manakara, Madagascar, after Tropical Cyclones Batsirai and Emnati.
