Tillsonburg Residents Affected by Apartment Fire Receive Help From The Salvation Army

Two Salvation Army Ministry Units have partnered to ensure individuals and families displaced by a recent apartment building fire in Tillsonburg have food and clothing.

Meals from The Salvation Army in Woodstock kept 15 families fed while Tillsonburg Community and Family Services looked after clothing needs for those impacted by the March 8 fire. Affected families in need of assistance have reached out to The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Tillsonburg.

“We’ve helped five households with clothing and other necessities. Our doors remain opened to provide hope and any assistance we can. We understand this is a traumatic time for all impacted by this fire and we’re here to help,” said Lt. Drew Young with The Salvation Army Tillsonburg Community Church.

Lt. Young expects that the families will reach out to the Thrift Store again once they are allowed to return to the building.

“If people need more clothing, a dresser or dishes, we are here to provide help and support in any way we can,” Drew says.
