The Salvation Army on the Scene of Ottawa Industrial Fire with EDS Mobile Food Services Vehicle

The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) responded to a 3-Alarm industrial fire in Ottawa that occurred on January 13, 2022.

Emergency Disaster Services’ volunteers rapidly deployed to set up an EDS canteen truck to provide first responders with refreshments and support at the family reunification centre.

“Emergencies can occur in large urban centres or remote communities and can range from tornadoes, floods to fires,” said Glenn van Gulik, Divisional Secretary for Public Relations with The Salvation Army Ontario Division.

“The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services is always here to respond and provide support within our capacity. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted by this incident. The Salvation Army is available to support family members and first responders for as long as necessary,” said van Gulik.
