
The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services in Ottawa Supporting Local Cooling Centres During Heat Wave
The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services in Ottawa is providing snacks and water bottles to the city’s cooling centres during this week’s heat wave.
Snacks include granola bars, chips and cookies.
The four cooling centres located at Plant Recreation Centre at 930 Somerset Street West, Hunt Club -Riverside Park Community Centre at 3320 Paul Anka Drive, Ron Kolbus Lakeside Centre at 102 Greenview Avenue and Pat Clark Community Centre at 4355 Halmont Drive will be open until 7 pm.
“The Salvation Army’s EDS team is always ready to provide support in all types of emergencies across the province,” said Glenn van Gulik, Divisional Secretary for Public Relations in the Ontario Division. “We are pleased to have a great partnership with the City of Ottawa to be able to support the community when there is a need for our services.”
