New Water Tanks Restore Stability

When the deteriorating water tank at a Salvation Army boys home in Myanmar threatened to collapse, the children’s health and well-being were in jeopardy. The tank was their only reliable access to clean water, essential for cooking, bathing and hygiene.

                  This boys home is a safe, stable haven for 30 boys, ages 8-17, who are orphaned, neglected or at-risk of experiencing abuse. The boys are provided with education, healthcare and nutritious meals. If the water tank collapsed, it would severely damage their sense of security and their health.

                  Thankfully, with the generous support of Salvation Army donors, the structure was rebuilt, creating two new durable 2,500-gallon tanks. The tanks now provide reliable, safe water throughout the home, turning a basic necessity into a reliable foundation for the children’s health and well-being. 

                  “I was scared I’d have to live somewhere else because this home makes me feel safe,” says 14-year old Win.^* “Now I can concentrate on my school work.”
