Presented by Craftsman Collision, the Hope in the City breakfast was hosted at the Vancouver Convention Centre on December 2, 2025. Over 970 guests joined The Salvation Army for a special meal where more than $379,000 was raised to support vital programs and services in the community.

The event was put together thanks to the hard work and investment from members of the Greater Vancouver Advisory Board and Hope in the City breakfast committee, including Daryl Dunn (co-chair), Michael Meneer (co-chair), Matthew Carter, Sabine Kempe and Michael Whittaker.

Throughout the ballroom, advisory board members hosted tables filled with event sponsors, community leaders, politicians and key supporters of The Salvation Army.

Michael Meneer co-hosted the event alongside Sophie Lui, news anchor from Global BC. Together they emceed the morning and introduced Daryl Dunn, vice-chair of the board, to present the Hero for Hope award to Alex Ma on behalf of sponsor Scotiabank, where he previously held the title of senior vice-president, Commercial Banking Western Canada.

Guests were inspired by Darrell Jones, retired president of Pattison Food Group and keynote speaker for the event. He delivered a powerful message highlighting the importance of confidence, perseverance and maintaining a positive mindset to turn goals into reality.

The Salvation Army British Columbia Division and the Hope in the City breakfast committee look forward to celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Hope in the City breakfast on December 1, 2026.
