How Mental Health Support Changes Lives (WATCH)

On January 29th, Bell Let’s Talk will continue its necessary conversation about Canada’s mental health. The reality is that, in any given year, one in five people in Canada experience mental health difficulties or illness.

The Salvation Army remains committed to addressing and supporting those who struggle with mental health issues.

“I was homeless and, when I came to The Salvation Army for help, my mental health was at ground zero,” says Chris. “With their support I learned how to cope with life’s challenges and am in a better place.”

Today, Chris is in stable housing, volunteers at the Army’s Centre of Hope in Halifax and at Connections Dartmouth, a mental health program, where he prepares lunches for those in need. We invite you to watch his story.
