
Halifax Advisory Board Welcomes New Chair and Vice-Chair
In September 2025, Neera Ritcey was appointed chair of the Halifax Advisory Board. She currently serves as director of corporate affairs at Chorus Aviation Inc., a leading aviation, aerospace and defence company headquartered in Halifax.
Her career spans leadership roles in the energy sector, politics and public safety, where she has developed strong expertise in enterprise communications, stakeholder relations and strategic planning. Neera is recognized for her thoughtful leadership, strategic insight and ability to build meaningful relationships across sectors.
Neera holds a master of arts, a postgraduate certificate in public relations and a certificate in investor relations. In 2023, she was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal in recognition of her contributions to public service in Nova Scotia. A longstanding member of the Halifax Advisory Board, she brings continuity and experience to her role, succeeding Joe Gillian and Ross Elliott, who served as co-chairs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sylvain Morin has taken on the role of vice-chair of the Halifax Advisory Board. He is an experienced executive financial consultant with a strong background in personalized financial planning and has built a successful practice in the field.
Originally from Sherbrooke, Que., Sylvain has spent most of his adult life in Halifax, where he has established his professional career and strong community roots. He brings a disciplined and pragmatic approach to his work and is valued for his clear communication, as well as his practical and collaborative mindset.
Sylvain resides in Halifax with his wife, Jennifer, and their two sons, Nicholas and Gabriel. After many years spent at the rink, he now enjoys exploring new culinary experiences and maintaining an active lifestyle with his family and their Jack Russell terrier.
