From a Helping Hand to a Year-Round Lifeline
For many people facing difficult circumstances, the need for support does not disappear when the holidays end. At The Salvation Army in Regina, community care means being there throughout the year providing practical help, welcoming spaces and a hot meal when it is needed most.

During the Christmas season, the Christmas Assistance Program brings hope to approximately 2,000 families and 6,000 children. Through toys for children and gift cards to help families prepare a Christmas meal, the program helps ensure that financial hardship does not define the holiday season.
The need continues long after Christmas, and so does The Salvation Army’s commitment to the community.
Each week, Lunch with Sally opens its doors to anyone looking for a warm meal and a welcoming place to gather. From hearty soups, sandwiches and dessert during the colder months to summer BBQs outdoors, staff and volunteers create more than a meal they create a space where people can sit down, connect and feel part of the community.
The Salvation Army also takes that support beyond its doors through its Mobile Outreach Program. Each week, the outreach team travels into the community to provide hot meals directly to people who may face barriers to traditional services. When temperatures drop, the team also distributes blankets and other essential supplies to help people stay warm and safe.
Together, these programs reflect a simple but powerful commitment: support should meet people where they are – whenever they need it.
