Children in Paraguay Reach Their Full Potential

Luca,* a young student in Paraguay, was struggling in school, especially with math and basic reading comprehension. As a result, he suffered low self-esteem.

Public schools are severely under-resourced, and many are open just four hours a day. This leaves children unsupervised for much of the day and susceptible to local gang activity.

Thankfully, Luca was able to join Curious & Brave, an after-school program run by The Salvation Army that fills critical gaps in education. The program boosts learning, provides nutrition, helps develop essential life skills and creates safe spaces.

“Since I started attending the tutoring lessons, they have helped me so much,” Luca says. With support from Salvation Army donors, children in this program are given more opportunities to develop their potential and build a more equitable future.
