$700,000 investment from BC Government for Emergency Disaster Services

The Salvation Army of British Columbia wishes to express our gratitude to the provincial Government for its ongoing partnership and support of our Disaster Relief Program which serves thousands of British Columbians in 'urgent need' situations each year.

The program provides vital Emergency Preparedness Training to BC residents and to our volunteers, in addition to facilitating the critical response and recovery efforts made possible by our Salvation Army Community Response Units which are on call 24 hours a day, every day.

The addition of these new vehicles and funding for training is a critical investment in emergency preparedness that will further enhance our ability to respond quickly and efficiently to the emergency needs of British Columbians and further educate our communities in Emergency Preparedness.

The Salvation Army considers it an honour to serve alongside other helping agencies who are in Minister Yamamoto's words, 'the boots on the ground delivering public safety and support to our citizens'.
