Each and every day of the year The Salvation Army Emergency Response units and their teams of volunteers are 'at the ready' to respond to emergencies and disasters of all kinds, often providing support and assistance long after the initial crisis has passed.
In the early morning hours of Saturday January 14th, The Salvation Army Emergency Response Team in Abbotsford received a call to assist First Responders at a house fire on Peardonville Rd. near Queen St.
Reportedly there were 8 people inside the home, including a young child, who were taken to hospital for smoke inhalation.
Salvation Army volunteer personnel remained on scene for several hours providing food and hydration to approx. 55 First Responders.
