Vancouver, BC | November 16, 2015 –  TELUS employees help The Salvation Army in so many ways and in so many different locations across Canada: they volunteer with us, they provide gifts of socks and toiletries for our shelters, they coach at risk children about Internet awareness at our summer camps, and they give generously through their employee matching campaign.

“The help provided by TELUS allows us to operate more efficiently and effectively to ensure that the maximum amount of support goes directly to those in need” said Patricia Cuff, Divisional Secretary for Public Relations and Development for The Salvation Army. “This donation will be used in 53 communities across Canada, positively impacting the lives of Canadians from coast to coast. We are truly touched by the ongoing generosity of TELUS and the TELUS staff.  Their ongoing support enables us to continue to Give Hope Today and in the future.”

“At TELUS we’re guided by the philosophy to Give Where We Live, and since 2000, TELUS, our team members and retirees have proudly contributed more than $2.5 million to The Salvation Army,” said Jill Schnarr, TELUS vice-president of community affairs. “Among our many philanthropic programs is one called Team TELUS Charitable Giving, where we match donations made by our team members up to $2,500. We’re honoured to support organizations that make a difference in the communities where we live, work and serve, and as a result of our team’s dedication to The Salvation Army across Canada, we’re supporting 53 locations this year.”
