It is always encouraging to see members of the community making a concerted and dedicated effort to give back.

Sodexo Food and Nutrition Services at Powell River General Hospital in Powell River, British Columbia decided to join our colleagues around the world in 80 countries in this 2012 Annual April Servathon to Stop Hunger in our local communities.

The Powell River team donated a lunch of soup, sandwiches and dessert to the local Salvation Army soup kitchen on April 26th, 2012.  This program provides food hampers to an average of 50 families in need every month.  In addition to this service shown, volunteers also run a soup kitchen that feeds an average of 60 people each and every Wednesday. Thank you to the 35 plus volunteers who generously give of their time each week. The lunch was a great success with many positive comments from the clients on the delicious homemade soup Sodexo provided. Every year hundreds of people across the City of Powell River rely on the Salvation Army to assist them in “making ends meet” or to help them until they can make it on their own.
