Advisory Board Members in Vancouver Ring in a Season of Giving
On November 21, 2025, the 13th annual Christmas kettle kickoff was held at Robson Square in the heart of downtown Vancouver, bringing together the spirit of Christmas, generosity and hope. Despite steady rain, the event drew a warm and enthusiastic crowd, demonstrating the enduring spirit of giving across the region.
Members of the Greater Vancouver Advisory Board played a meaningful role in the event, actively engaging with the community, ringing bells and supporting the cause. Robert McFarlane, chair of the Greater Vancouver Advisory Board, set the tone for the campaign by connecting with attendees, encouraging donations and championing the mission behind the kettles. Alongside him, Daryl Dunn, advisory board vice-chair, was equally dedicated, actively participating in the event and reinforcing the importance of community involvement.
The event brought the community together to celebrate the start of the Christmas season, with free hot chocolate served from an emergency disaster services community response unit, lunch from a local food truck and live Christmas music performed by a Salvation Army brass band.
These contributions directly support programs and services that assist individuals and families in need throughout local communities, underscoring the meaningful impact of a strong start driven in part by the dedication of leaders like Robert McFarlane, Daryl Dunn and the entire Greater Vancouver Advisory Board.
