What advisory boards do

Regina Advisory Board Re-launches

After several years without an active advisory board in Regina, there has been a re-launch in the Saskatchewan capital. Originally established in August of 1936, the Regina Advisory Board played an integral part in the ministry of The Salvation Army in the city for generations. In recent years, the board’s membership declined and the board was dissolved.

However, local leadership identified a need to bring back an advisory board to support the work of The Salvation Army’s various ministries within the city and, in March of 2025, the inaugural meeting of the new Regina Advisory Board was held.

“We are very encouraged by the formation of a new advisory board in Regina,” says Lieut.-Colonel Donald Bladen, divisional commander for the Prairies and Northern Territories Division. “We look forward to their partnership as we advance the work of The Salvation Army in Regina.”

The new advisory board’s membership includes Pat Fiacco, Wayne Matyka, Mark Fox, Judy Doan, Ivy Scobie, Sheila Wignes-Paton and Philip Rossignol. Their advice and ongoing support of the wide variety of ministries that The Salvation Army provides is very much appreciated.
