But sometimes, people who are housing-insecure find themselves moving from one unstable situation to another due to low wages, housing scarcity, domestic violence, and other factors.

Helping in Disaster
During a crisis, we are there for survivors, first responders and people who are displaced. The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) personnel respond to incidents across Canada, providing essential direct interventions such as food, shelter, clothing and hydration, as well as meeting longer-term community needs.
Serving in over 400 communities across Canada, The Salvation Army is there at the moment of disaster offering emotional and spiritual care and remains in the community long after, supporting those who are experiencing loss and are struggling. Our services are adapted to the specific needs of individuals and communities and scalable according to the magnitude of the disaster.
