Feeding People in Need

Food is the common thread running through most of our work. We help everyone who comes to us without discrimination, based on our capacity to serve.

Providing Support and Shelter for the Unhoused

When we think of homelessness, we often think of people living in a shelter or completely unhoused in a public space. But sometimes, people who are housing-insecure find themselves moving from one unstable situation to another due to low wages, housing scarcity, domestic violence, and other factors.

Caring Comprehensively

The Salvation Army is a Christian organization that gives hope and support to vulnerable people in more than 400 communities across Canada and in more than 130 countries worldwide. When you give to The Salvation Army, you support a holistic model of care for anyone who comes to us in need, based on our ability to help.

Making a Difference Around the World

The Salvation Army’s International Development Department works in more than 130 countries around the world. Our priorities include emergency and disaster relief, as well as longer-term commitments to holistic and sustainable development. Our partnerships include maternal newborn child health programming, gender equality, WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene), and more.

Helping in Disaster

During a crisis, we are there for survivors, first responders and people who are displaced. The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) personnel respond to incidents across Canada, providing essential direct interventions such as food, shelter, clothing and hydration, as well as meeting longer-term community needs.

Serving in over 400 communities across Canada, The Salvation Army is there at the moment of disaster offering emotional and spiritual care and remains in the community long after, supporting those who are experiencing loss and are struggling. Our services are adapted to the specific needs of individuals and communities and scalable according to the magnitude of the disaster.
