The Salvation Army utilizes volunteers in every aspect of Emergency Disaster Services. Full training is provided through the National Disaster Training Program (NDTP), a very detailed emergency response training program whereby personnel are trained in every aspect of Salvation Army emergency response. Only pre-trained, pre-registered personnel are called on during an emergency or disaster response.

What is the time commitment?

The length of time varies depending on the position and your availability. We have one-time, seasonal and ongoing volunteer roles.

Will I be trained?

Yes. All volunteers will receive training specific to your volunteer role.

Is there a minimum age requirement for volunteering?

No. The age requirement is based on the safety and risks associated with the role as well as the need of certain skills, experiences and supervision.
