The Weber Foundation Gifts a Positive Future in Midland

Hope shines bright in Midland, thanks to the extraordinary generosity of The Weber Foundation. The recent $500,000 donation will enhance the Salvation Army’s efforts to provide food security and stable housing for vulnerable individuals.
The Weber Foundation’s generosity will support the street outreach program, food bank, family services, and other local ministry programs in Midland. These services are a helping hand to ensure the health, safety and well-being of those in need.
Lieutenant Aimee Thomas, corps officer at The Salvation Army Midland Community Church, says the donation will have a long-lasting positive impact on those receiving compassionate support in Midland.
“This donation will allow us to develop new programs and fulfill needs that are currently not being addressed. This funding also enables us to support other organizations, such as our local shelter and schools, with food assistance,” Lieutenant Thomas says. “Midland as a whole will benefit as we continue to join with other agencies to reduce homelessness and food insecurity,”
The donation came at the perfect time to meet the needs of clients reaching out to The Salvation Army for assistance, as rising food and housing costs in the area are making life challenging for area residents. The support will reduce the stress of being able to put food on the table while bringing hope and stability to many individuals and families.
“We are so thankful for the continued support from the Weber Family and The Weber Foundation. You have truly been a blessing to the Midland Salvation Army and our community. Your financial support has fed, clothed, and given hope to those in need.”
The Weber Foundation, started by philanthropist Reinhart Weber and his late wife Alexandra, has supported The Salvation Army in Midland for 20 years, contributing an additional $205,000 over that time. The Weber Foundation’s commitment is a testament to the power of compassion.
“We have supported the local Salvation Army for many years because they provide a valued and essential service for many in our community. The Salvation Army was the favourite charity of my late wife Alexandra,” says Reinhart Weber, founder, chair, and benefactor of The Weber Foundation.
The Salvation Army is grateful to be among the 13 recipients chosen to receive a share of the Foundation’s recent $22.5 million donation. Over the last 27 years, the Foundation has gifted more than $50 million to local charities.
