Susan Waterfield
Chair

Susan Waterfield is the retired president of The Waterfield Group, a consulting firm that worked with many organizations in Canada and internationally. Her focus was on governance, public sector reform, organizational design, effectiveness and transformation, workplace harassment and discrimination investigations, labour relations negotiations and program and performance evaluation.
Prior to establishing the Waterfield Group, Susan worked for 32 years the Ontario Government in 11 different Ministries and Central Agencies. Her last position was Associate Secretary of Cabinet for Leadership and Deputy Minister of Government Restructuring.
Susan’s volunteer commitment is extensive, serving on boards in the mental health, child development and health sectors.
Gabriel J. Chang
Vice Chair
Gabe has over 20 years of strategy experience, through various corporate strategy roles and management consulting. Gabe currently is Senior Vice-President, Strategy, and leads the Corporate Strategy team at Great-West Lifeco (“Lifeco”). Gabe and his team provide strategy advisory services across Lifeco’s portfolio of market-leading businesses (Canada Life, Irish Life, Empower and Putnam) in Canada, Europe and the US.
Prior to Lifeco, Gabe led the Corporate Strategy team at Direct Energy. Gabe started his strategy career at Bain & Company and prior to Bain, Gabe was a lawyer, specializing in insurance and commercial litigation. He holds a B.Sc. in Molecular Genetics & Molecular Biology from the University of Toronto and a J.D. from Western University (London, Canada).
Ana Tomas
Marketing Specialist
Ana Tomas is a marketing professional with over a decade of experience leading some of Canada’s most beloved brands. In her current role as Head of Small Medium Business, Export, and Grow with Google Marketing at Google Canada she partners with businesses and learners to support their digital adoption journey helping them build the skills they need to achieve their full potential. Prior to her role at Google Canada, Ana led multiple portfolios at Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health.
Grounded in her passion for continuous learning and supporting the development of future Marketing leaders, Ana teaches Marketing Management at her alma mater; The Schulich School of Business at York University where she earned her iBBA and MBA degrees.
Richardo Standford
Managing Director
Ricardo Stanford is the Managing Director and Global Head of Business Management at RBC Capital Markets. He leads a global team across multiple geographies which under his leadership, is responsible for the development and execution of global business strategies that enable sustained business performance. He is member of the firms Canadian Diversity Leadership Council and responsible for ensuring that RBC’s commitment to diversity and inclusion is and remains part of the culture.
Outside of work, Ricardo is actively involved in the community and supports local and global charities such as Habitat for Humanity’s International Global Village Program and being a Big Brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto.
Helen Angus
CEO
Helen is currently the CEO of AMS Healthcare. Helen is also the chair of the board of Public Health Ontario and is a distinguished fellow at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy.
Helen’s 30-year progressive career in the public sector included 20 years working in the Government of Ontario, with a tenure from 2018 to 2021 as Ontario’s Deputy Minister of Health and led the health response to the Covid-19 pandemic as well as an ambitious health sector modernization agenda. During her time with the Ontario Government, Helen also served as the Deputy Minister of Treasury Board; Citizenship, Immigration and international Trade, Seniors Affairs and Women’s Issues.
Neil Hetherington
CEO
Neil Hetherington joined Daily Bread Food Bank as CEO in January 2018. Neil began his career in project management at Tridel Construction.
In 2000, he made a career change by joining Habitat for Humanity Toronto, at the time as the youngest CEO of a Habitat affiliate in the world. Neil’s non-profit experience includes CEO of Habitat for Humanity in Toronto, and then New York City, and CEO of Dixon Hall.
Neil holds degrees or certificates from the University of Western Ontario – Huron College, Seneca College, Harvard Business School and the University of Virginia – Darden Business School. He obtained his MBA from the University of Western Ontario’s Ivey Business School in 2013.
Andrew Greenville
Research Veteran
Andrew Grenville is a 35+ year research veteran who has conducted an extensive amount of research on research, with a focus on the respondent experience, survey simplification and sample quality. He is the author of Eureka! the science and art of insights and The Insights Revolution: Questioning Everything. He has also published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters in the areas of sociology, research methods and medicine, and has been quoted in many publications, including The Economist.
Andrew is Senior Strategist at Ensemble Strategies, and was Chief Research Officer of Angus Reid Group, Maru/Matchbox, Vision Critical and Ipsos Health.
Andy Hollenberg
Insurance Executive
Andy Hollenberg retired after more than 30 years in financial services, the last 22 as an insurance executive with Chubb Insurance (previously ACE Insurance). Operated multiple and varied businesses spanning wide geographies. Participated on multiple Boards under varied regulatory regimes. Lived in Canada, US, UK and Japan and has an incredible family that adapted well to change.
Andy has always strived to be actively involved in the community: whether coaching or volunteering. Most recently he was a member of the Toronto Grace Health Centre’s Board of Trustees and in addition to serving on The Salvation Army National Advisory Board is currently on the Board at Bayview Golf and Country Club.

Commissioner Lee Graves
Chair
Commissioner Lee Graves was born and raised in St. Thomas, Ont., and entered the College for Officer Training in 1981. Ordained and commissioned as a Salvation Army officer in 1983, Lee married then Lieutenant Debbie Smith following her commissioning in 1984. Lee completed a master’s degree in business administration in 2006.
Prior to taking up his appointment as the territorial commander in the Canada and Bermuda Territory in September 2023, Lee served as the international secretary for business administration at International Headquarters in London, England. Previously, Lee was chief secretary in the United Kingdom and Ireland Territory, an appointment he also held in the Canada and Bermuda Territory.
Lt.-Colonel Roxanne Jennings
Vice Chair
Lt. Colonel Roxanne Jennings has served as a Salvation Army officer for 36 with appointments including community church ministry, chaplaincy, divisional headquarters staff, the College for Officer Training and now as serving as the Territorial Secretary for Personnel. As the Secretary for Personnel, she has enjoyed journeying with people as they fulfill their calling to ministry and service.
Colonel John Chamness
Member and Chief Executive Officer
Colonel John Chamness, originally from Seattle, Washington, is the son and grandson of Presbyterian pastors and missionaries. John and his wife Lani have served as corps officers and divisional officers in a variety of appointments in the U.S.A. Western Territory’s Hawaiian and Pacific Islands, Northwest and Southern California divisions.
In 2017, John received a Master of Arts with a leadership focus from Indiana Wesley Seminary.
John was appointed as chief secretary in the Canada and Bermuda Territory in August 2023.
John and Lani have been married for over 30 years and have three adult children. John is an avid runner, loves hiking, woodworking, and just about anything to do with the outdoors.
Lt.-Colonel Keith Pike
Member and Chief Executive Officer
Lt. Colonel Keith Pike was born in Carbonear, Newfoundland to officer parents and grew up in several cities across Canada from coast to coast. Keith has been an officer for more than 30 years serving as corps officer, divisional youth secretary, College for Officer Training staff, Territorial Youth Secretary and Youth and Children’s Officer at International Headquarters, divisional leader in Quebec and the Maritime Division. Keith is a graduate of Tyndale University (BRE) and University of Guelph (MA).
Keith is a coffee fan who loves to play golf, hockey and cheer for his favourite team, the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Bryan Campbell
Secretary
Bryan Campbell has been The Salvation Army’s General Legal Counsel for almost 30 years. Prior to joining the Army’s legal team, he worked at the law firm that is now known as Dentons LLP where he practiced real estate law. He is a graduate of York University (Hon. B.A) and the University of Toronto (LL.B.) and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1990. As General Counsel, Bryan has a wide cross section of legal expertise and has spent decades developing his legal skills to meet the specific needs of The Salvation Army. When not working, Bryan enjoys hiking, swimming, military history, and chess. In recent years, Bryan has developed an avid interest in the birds and the bees, and has taken up birdwatching and beekeeping.
Major Mark Stanley
Associate Secretary
Major Mark Stanley was a Salvation Army employee for 15 years before becoming a Salvation Army officer in 2007, and has served in Bangladesh, Jamaica and now in the Canada and Bermuda Territory in roles as the Director of Operations for National Recycling Operations, executive director in social services, divisional public relations and development secretary, economic development coordinate, and currently is serving as the Territorial Governance and Policy Officer. He is a graduate of Booth University College (BA) and Royal Roads University (MBA).
Adam E. Harvey, CPA, CA, ICD.D

Adam is an independent corporate director with over 30 years of experience in Finance and Corporate Governance – as an independent corporate director, as an audit partner and trusted advisor, and as a Chief Financial Officer.
A graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors’ Directors Education Program (ICD.D), Adam is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA), and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree in Accounting and Finance from Carleton University.
Adam is an adherent member of The Salvation Army, attending Ottawa Citadel with his wife, Patti, and their adult children, James and Katie.
Kimberley Mullins, M.Sc, Ph.D, MISCP

Dr. Kimberley Mullins is an experienced talent leader and expert in the areas of organizational and individual development. Her work on leadership and organizational behavior has appeared in both academic and popular press and she has been called on as an expert consultant and speaker. An adherent and volunteer with the Salvation Army, she led the Salvation Army Gender Equity Task Force (2020-2023) before joining the Governing Council as an independent advisor. Professionally she held leadership roles within public and private sectors, most recently leading learning and talent management functions for several Fortune 500 companies. She is currently the Vice President of Talent, Learning and Culture at Suncor Energy. She volunteers her time and expertise to help community-based non-profits enhance their leadership skills and empower their teams through improved organizational systems. Kimberley holds a PhD (research in leadership communication and group dynamics) from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle and a Masters of Science (Business Psychology) from Strathclyde University in Scotland. She has also studied at York University in Toronto, the University of London in the UK, the University of North Carolina and the Pearson Peacekeeping Centre of Canada.
Rev. Doug Ward

Doug has been a pastor for many years, recently serving at Kanata Baptist Church, Ottawa, for the last 40 years. He has worked with Salvation Army officers for two decades as a senior mentor at Arrow Leadership. Presently, Doug is a Senior Fellow (Faith Communities) with the Cardus Institute, a Christian think tank in Ottawa. He is married to Meredith, a High School music teacher, and has three daughters, Lydia, Laura and Meghan, married to three terrific young men, and blessed with seven grandchildren. Riding his e-bike, reading, and watching Arsenal football give him great pleasure.
