Salmon Donation Brings Hope to Tsideldel First Nation

In a remarkable display of community collaboration and generosity, the Gitga’at First Nation near Prince Rupert has donated over 500 salmon to the Tsideldel First Nation in Alexis Creek. This vital contribution comes at a crucial time, as the Tsideldel community faces challenges due to the Chilcotin slide, which has severely impacted their fishing activities.

We are incredibly grateful to our partners, Food Banks BC and Save On Foods, for their invaluable assistance in transporting these fish over a 1,200-kilometer journey. Special thanks to Julie Dickson Olmstead from the Pattison Food Group, whose efforts were instrumental in connecting all parties involved. Together, we navigated logistical challenges to ensure these essential resources reached those in need.
