Jackson dealt with a lot of deception in his family. When he learned that his biological father was still living, he was overwhelmed and confused. At an early age he abused alcohol to numb the emotional pain. Then it was hard drugs. He eventually was homeless.

“I’d spiralled out of control,” says Jackson. “It was sidewalks or The Salvation Army. In October 2017, I came to The Salvation Army for help to get my life on track. I was overcome by their support and care.”
