Every child needs the best start in life and the opportunity to thrive. In countries like Rwanda, many young children between the ages of 3 and 6 lack access to good nutrition, and they have few opportunities to attend preschool or other learning programs that would give them a crucial head start in life.

Thanks to the generous support of people like you, The Salvation Army Canada is working to provide critical early childhood development opportunities in preschools in 11 impoverished communities in Rwanda. Your gifts help ensure a quality education for all by providing thesepreschools with trained teachers, classroom materials and greater access for children with disabilities.

In addition, your generosity supports an essential meal program, including poultry, fruit trees and a vegetable garden to reduce dependency on external sources of food for the children.

Thanks to you, vulnerable preschool children in Rwanda now have access to education and healthy food!

“On behalf of the parents whose children attend The Salvation Army’s preschools, thank you forsupporting our children with nutrition and other health related matters,” says Alice, a parent. “We especially appreciate the poultry farming because our children are now eating eggs.”
