The Home Heating Program (PEI)

In partnership with the Government of Prince Edward Island, The Salvation Army is helping Islanders heat their homes this winter through The Home Heating Program. The Home Heating Program offers maximum assistance in the amount of $1,200 per calendar year for individuals and families.

 

How do I qualify?

To receive up to $1,200 in each calendar year eligible applicants are as follows:

 

  • Residents of Prince Edward Island facing hardship in meeting home heating expenses.
  • Applicants will be expected to produce proof of income, address and fuel expenses.
  • Applicants cannot be in receipt of PEI Social Assistance.
  • Applicants must fall within the following Income Criteria:
    • Single Person Household – $45,000 or less
    • Family Household – $60,000 or less

 

*Where income is defined as gross income (Line 15000 of Notice of Assessment)

 

To apply for The Home Heating Program, you can:

  • Download the 2025 Home Heating Application Form and email your completed form to charlottetowncc.homeheating@salvationarmy.ca
  • Contact The Salvation Army in Charlottetown at 902-367-0875 or The Salvation Army in Summerside at 902-436-0649.
  • Visit The Salvation Army: 158 Fitzroy Street, Charlottetown (Monday to Friday 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.).
  • Visit The Salvation Army at the County Fair Mall: 475 Granville Street, Summerside (Monday to Friday 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.).
  • Pick up an application at your local public library or Access PEI location.
