A Legacy of Service in Thunder Bay

Sam Stephenson, a dedicated life member of the Thunder Bay Advisory Board and a strong supporter of the Army’s mission, passed away July 7, 2025.

Sam joined the board in 1980 and remained dedicated to The Salvation Army, even as his health declined in recent years.

He was delighted to see the Journey to Life Centre finally become a reality. This project was envisioned and planned during his time on the advisory board to provide shelter, as well as various programs, to assist people facing difficulties. Although he did not have the opportunity to see it in person, Sam appreciated receiving photos and updates about the centre.
