Christmas Daddies Telethon | December 2023

Since 1964, CTV’s iconic Christmas Daddies annual telethon has raised much-needed funds to ensure less fortunate children across the Maritimes experience the Christmas they deserve.

In 2022, this pledge-based live broadcast variety show raised more than $743,000. The Salvation Army is honoured to be the beneficiary and distribution partner of this program for New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

Newfoundland and Labrador

Mug Up for HOPE | May 15, 2023

Mug Up for HOPE is a new fundraising event that benefits The Salvation Army’s “Send a Kid to Camp” program at Camp Starrigan. We will gather at Emera Innovation Exchange on May 15, 2023, at noon to enjoy a cozy, informal gathering with our supporters and community partners as we network and learn more about the benefits of getting out and experiencing nature. Hope in the City | November 16, 2023

Join us on November 16 in St. John’s for our Hope in the City Leadership Breakfast!

Hope in the City is a heartwarming and impactful annual event that brings together community members, businesses, and organizations to raise awareness and funds for The Salvation Army.

Money raised supports a common goal of creating positive change and offering Hope to vulnerable individuals and families in our community.

Santa Shuffle | December 2, 2023

Calling all Santa Shufflers!

The countdown is on until the 2023 Santa Shuffle. Register now at https://www.santashuffle.ca/st-johns/!

Please note that this year the run will start at the Boathouse on Quidi Vidi Lake, and finish on the Boulevard side across from the legion.

The Santa Shuffle is a 5km Fun Run and 1km Elf Walk for all ages and skill levels. Participants fundraise throughout the season to make a difference in their community. On event day, participants are encouraged to wear their funkiest festive running attire for a day of laughter and fun. After the event, each participant is rewarded a finisher medal to celebrate their accomplishment. The Santa Shuffle is held in proud partnership with the Running Room.

Halifax Regional Municipality Kettle Kick Off | November 25, 2023

Join The Salvation Army on the Halifax waterfront as we celebrate our Toy Drive, Kettle Kick off, and the start of the Holiday season. We encourage those attending to bring a new unwrapped toy, if able, and enjoy hot beverages and our Brass Band.
