Hope in the City is a heartwarming and impactful annual event that brings together community members, businesses, and organizations to raise awareness and funds for The Salvation Army.

The money raised supports the common goal of creating positive change and offering Hope to vulnerable individuals and families in our community.

We are thrilled to announce that Joe Roberts, motivational speaker, and advocate for social change, will be our keynote speaker for the event. His inspiring message and personal journey will motivate and highlight the importance of our collective efforts in addressing these challenges.

Emcee

Sharon Snow’s career with Newfoundland Broadcasting spans over three decades. In that time, she has worked tirelessly as a media sales rep, in on-air duties, NTV local productions, and many hosting duties, including being the Emcee for The Salvation Army’s Hope in City Leadership Breakfast and just recently she joined the ranks of Management with Newfoundland Broadcasting Company as Retail Sales Manager.

Not long after joining NBC as a Media Sales Rep, Sharon was asked to wear another hat- it would come in the form of on-air and fill in as a weather presenter during the highly rated NTV Evening News hour, that was over 25 years ago, her weather hits took the viewers about town and engaged within the community while they enjoyed their dinner every evening, and it would lead eventually to the creation of her own Feature, Titled “Places to GO.”Now in its 23rd year and is the longest-running feature on NTV. .” Places to Go ” is a weekly human interest feature with a deep love for exploration and a knack for uncovering hidden gems around the province and beyond, Sharon takes viewers on exciting journeys to various destinations. While she will occasionally be seen hosting the weather segment on NTV’s First Edition and the NTV Evening News hour, Sharon will now shift focus. In her new role as Retail Sales Manager, Sharon leads the Newfoundland Broadcasting Sales Team with poise and confidence. She fosters a collaborative and supportive team environment while implementing strategies, action plans and sales tactics to meet targets.

Sharon also makes time to volunteer on many committees and is engaged in countless community events, all the while being a Mom to two children, Ethan, 20 and Jorja, 18, who are both pursuing studies at Memorial University.
