The Salvation Army’s Community & Family Services (CFS) in Edmonton offers a free breakfast every Friday morning for anyone in the community who needs one. Today, to highlight some of the programs your kettle donations fund, we’ve had some special guest servers help us out to bring awareness to these programs. Susan Read and Larry Severin from CTV, MLA David Eggen, and Councillor Scott McKeen joined us this morning as we served 161 men, women, and children a hot breakfast.

Later today, a hot lunch will be served to our seniors. This lunch program is offered every other Friday at CFS, and our guests can read the newspaper, talk, play some games, and enjoy fellowship time together before lunch. This is the second lunch of the month, so there will also be door prizes and birthday gifts. Any of our seniors with a November birthday will get a small gift, and everyone sings Happy Birthday to them.

These are just a few of the many year-round programs and services offered at CFS that rely on your donations, especially at Christmas. You can donate online at www.fillthekettle.com, by phone at 1-800-SAL-ARMY, or at one of the many kettle locations around Edmonton.

Thank you for helping us Give Hope Today.
