The 4th Annual Parry Sound Fire Department Food Drive took place on Saturday, December 4th, and was a huge success.

Over 65 volunteers joined forces with The Salvation Army and the Fire Department going door-to-door collecting non-perishable food donations. Volunteers included almost 40 children from local hockey teams, the 4H club, the dance academy and other local sports groups.

The donations of food will be used to stock the shelves of The Salvation Army Food Bank and come at a time when the weather is getting colder and demand for Salvation Army services has increased by 22% over last year.

The Salvation Army is grateful for the tremendous response from community. The donations will go a long way as The Salvation Army continues to meet practical needs throughout the community.
