The property development community comes together to support their community.

On September 16 we hosted our first annual Nine Holes for Hope Golf Tournament at Golden Eagle Golf Club in Maple Ridge. The fundraising event drew 24 teams with a total of 96 golfers, and together with our very generous sponsors, they helped us raise over $70,000.

The money raised at this wonderful event will go towards the construction of a new Vancouver Harbour Light facility at 130 E. Cordova on the Downtown Eastside. The new nine-story, 150,000 sq. ft. building is the single largest project The Salvation Army in Canada has ever invested in. Construction is slated to begin in April 2022.

The new Vancouver Harbour Light will offer the opportunity to better support people on the Downtown Eastside with programs and services that include community feeding, life skills and vocational training, addiction and healthcare programs, housing, emergency shelter, and much more. The Salvation Army is the single largest provider of direct social services in the province and this facility will only allow us to grow our capacity to help individuals and the community.

We would like to say thank you to all those who played, our generous sponsors, and a special thank you to the volunteer organizing committee who helped pull this whole thing together. This was all possible because of these groups. Thank you.
