Christmas is a sad season for the poor. The number of Canadians living in poverty remains unacceptably high and continues to grow. One in 11 Canadians live in poverty. We cannot run from the fact that we need to reach out to these people in our midst.

On December 3, The Salvation Army Santa Shuffle, a 5k/1k run, walk, not only brings families and friends together, but funds raised through the event assists people in need during the Christmas season and throughout the year. The shuffle runs Canada-wide in 39 cities.

It is through the support of the public that The Salvation Army is able to continue to strengthen its programs, and develop new and innovative services.

The Santa Shuffle is made possible thanks to national partners All Weather Windows and The Running Room.
