Ottawa, Ont.
Dozens of people were left without a home after fire ripped through a ground floor unit of an Ottawa high-rise, causing extensive smoke damage throughout.

The province of Saskatchewan is committing as much as $2.35 million dollars to emergency shelters over the next three years. More than $360,000 will go to The Salvation Army’s shelter for counselling programs. Read more.

An event, “Here We Grow Again” was held at The Salvation Army. It was an opportunity for the public and people who are experiencing poverty to learn different ways on how to grow vegetables.

About 100 residents were displaced after a major fire in an apartment high-rise in downtown Victoria. The Salvation Army provided food, drinks and blankets to affected residents. Read more.
