Why Innovative Partnerships Are So Important to The Salvation Army
Without the support of local individuals and organizations, The Salvation Army would be unable to give hope to those in need. That is why being an innovative partner is so important to The Salvation Army. It allows us to find and work with organizations as invested in in our communities as we are, and together we can mobilize to share hope wherever the is hardship.
An example of such a partnership is the one we have built with Circle K here in Atlantic Canada.
“The need is greater than ever and the support of Circle K will help us offer programs that bring hope to local families,” says Captain Steve Toynton, one of the leaders of The Salvation Army in Springhill. “This partnership with Circle K means we have support from a partner who cares about the local communities The Salvation Army serves.”
This past Christmas Circle K partnered with The Salvation Army to raise funds for the iconic Kettle campaign. Customers checking out of Circle K stores were prompted to give as much or as little as they’d like to The Salvation Army. The partnership was a success, with the generosity of Atlantic Canadians and the passion of the Circle K staff amassing a staggering $57,000 for The Salvation Army.
“We believe that businesses have a responsibility to give back to those in need,” says Keith King, Circle K’s senior director of operations, “and Circle K is proud to contribute to The Salvation Army in support of our local communities.”
Originally contained to a few stores located in and around the Moncton area, this partnership has since grown to encompass the entirety of Atlantic Canada, with every Circle K store in New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland now participating.
The Salvation Army is constantly seeking out new and evolving partnerships to better deliver our mission of sharing the love of Jesus Christ as we meet human needs and enrich the communities around us.
If you want to be a part of supporting your communities’ most vulnerable people, whether as an individual or an organization, we encourage you to reach out to your local Salvation Army and build a partnership today.
Together we can make a difference.
