To receive assistance:

Until December 12th and there is no appointment needed. Simply visit our front office Tuesday to Friday from 9 am to 1 pm. On Wednesdays we offer extended hours from the food bank entrance at the back of the building from 1 pm to 4 pm.

Please bring government issued ID for everyone in your household; proof of address dated within the last two months; and a list of interests for your children between the ages of 0 to 15 years.

Our Hope for Christmas Red Trees of Hope can be found around Wetaskiwin and folks can select a gift tag off one of the trees, purchase the item on the tag, and return it to one of our Hope for Christmas Donation Bins to help us give someone a little Hope for Christmas. Tress of Hope can be found in Wetaskiwn at Canadian Tire (10% off donated toy), Walmart, Manluk Centre festival of trees, Wetaskiwn Heritage Museum, and Wetaskiwn Library. Hope for Christmas Donation Bins are located at Canadian Tire, Manluk Centre festival of trees, Wetaskiwn Heritage Museum, and Wetaskiwn Library and our main office on main street 5102 50 Ave. Wetaskiwn.

Christmas Kettle Campaign | November 17 – December 24

Help us reach our $850,000 goal this year by donating at a Kettle at one of our 33 locations across the city. Kettle campaign funds stay local and supports shelter housing for men and women; emergency food hampers; baby essentials and more for families; programming (homework, recreation, camp), backpacks, toys for children and youth; Mobile Warming Stations and other Outreach programs for the homeless and vulnerable, literacy and financial literacy. Help fight poverty one step at a time at our annual 5K Fun Run and 1 K Elf Walk! We are excited to announce that Santa Shuffle will be back to in-person this year at The Confluence.

Kettles Campaign | November 14 – December 23

Our annual Christmas Kettle campaign gets underway November 14 and runs until December 23rd. Volunteers needed to cover Kettle shifts in various locations in St. Albert, Stony Plain, and Spruce Grove. Contact Crystal (St. Albert) or Rosie Stittle (Spruce/Stony) at 780-458-1937 for more information. Funds stay local to support our programs and services to Give Hope Today all year long, such as the Bunker youth drop-in programs, Hope Company market, cafe, wellness, summer day camps, March Breakfast Basketball camp, special community events, after school program, and more.

Breakfast with Santa | November 18

Come enjoy a pancake and sausage breakfast and get your picture taken with Santa! On Saturday, November 18th from 10 a.m. – 12 a.m. Santa will be available for pictures (bring your own camera). Price of admission is just one new, unwrapped toy per person for our toy store! Please reserve your spot by getting a ticket through our website and selecting your time slot, either Entry 1: 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. or Entry 2: 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. as space is limited.

Our toy store is something we open up every Christmas season to families who cannot afford to purchase gifts for their kids at Christmas. By bringing a new toy and coming to this event you will be directly supporting and helping local families!

Candlelight Service | December 24

Join us at 4 p.m. on December 24 for our candlelight service. Everyone is welcome.

Christmas Toy and Hamper Registration | Nov 1 – December 6

The Christmas Toy and Hamper registration will be held  on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1 – 4:30 p.m. from Nov 1 to Dec 6. Applicants can register at 4925 45 Street.

All applicants must bring:

  • Valid photo ID for all adults in the household
  • Valid ID for all children in the household (i.e., Health Care)
  • Proof of residency (i.e., a piece of mail)
  • Proof of income for the household (i.e., bank statement or pay stub)

Christmas Kettle Campaign | Nov 23 – December 23

Kettles will be out on Thursdays and Fridays from 4-8 p.m., and on Saturdays from 12-6 p.m. If you would like to volunteer for a kettle shift, you can email Tony Brushett at tony.brushett@salvationarmy.ca.
