For The Love of Giving – Manitoba Pork

The Salvation Army couldn’t do what we do without the generosity of our donors. Donors who open their hearts to help us continue giving hope today. The Salvation Army Prairie would like to recognize a great example of this, Manitoba Pork.

Manitoba Pork first became a donor about five years ago. Since then, they have supported The Salvation Army by donating various pork products to help us serve our clients or to feed guests at special events.

In 2019, Manitoba Pork donated a tonne of locally produced, 100% pure pork sausage. Two hundred three cases will be delivered, adding up to the promised one tonne. The sausage was added to the meals provided by the Centre of Hope, and a portion of it was used for our annual Salvation Army Hope in the City Breakfast. Also, during The Salvation Army Winnipeg Centre of Hope ribbon-cutting ceremony, Manitoba Pork donated about 200 kilograms of fresh pork roasts, which were used to make pulled pork for the nearly 1500 people in attendance.

“Every year, we commit to making a one-tonne pork sausage donation to an organization that helps those who are struggling with hunger and in life. This year, we have chosen to support The Salvation Army, recognizing the major renovation they have undertaken and to assist with the growing need for emergency food assistance,” says Susan Riese of Manitoba Pork. The Salvation Army Prairie Division would like to say a very heartfelt THANK YOU to Manitoba Pork for its continued support.
