For The Love of Giving – Dr. James Parker
The Salvation Army is grateful for all that is donated to us. Donations of clothing, money and time are invaluable to the success of The Salvation Army.
Dr. James Parker was looking for a way to give back to his community after retiring from his career as an education administrator. He began volunteering at The Salvation Army in Regina, SK and was impressed by how the organization strives to make a difference.
James gives his time to attend and volunteer at the bi-monthly seniors’ Lunch and Learn event at the Haven of Hope Ministries. In one of these sessions, James realized that it had been 15 years since he had updated his will. A Salvation Army representative took the time to sit down with him and discuss his wishes. James decided to leave his estate to the Army and appointed the Army as executor.
“There is great comfort in knowing I have a reputable executor who will do the right thing and that what I leave behind can continue to help.” – Dr. James Parker
